Whole Wheat Apple Bars

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups Kellogg's Corn Flakes® cereal Buy Now
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups grated, unpeeled apples
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Directions:

1. In large mixing bowl, combine KELLOGG'S CORN FLAKES cereal, flours,
brown sugar, salt, baking soda and spices. Add apples, egg, corn syrup, oil
and raisins, stirring until combined. Spread in 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan coated
with cooking spray.

2. Bake at 350°F about 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center
comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Sift powdered sugar over surface
before cutting. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Yield: 24 bars
