Walnut Cranberry Bread

This fruit and nut bread is as versatile as it is delicious. It's delicious in the morning, toasted and spread with our rich spiced butter. The cranberries and walnuts also offer a sweet and earthy counterpoint to creamy, savory chicken salad.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 1/3 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup Kellogg's® All-Bran® Original cereal
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup dried cranberries*
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • Spiced Butter (optional)

Directions:

1. Add all bread ingredients to bread machine according to manufacturer's directions*. Select basic white bread cycle. Serve with Spiced Orange Butter, if desired.

*NOTE: Dried fruits and nuts should be added to your bread machine at the raisin bread cycle, if your machine has one. If not, add them according to the manufacturer's directions or 15 minutes into the kneading cycle.

Spiced Butter
In small mixing bowl beat 4 ounces softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons softened butter or margarine, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice on medium speed of electric mixer until fluffy. Gradually beat in 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar. Cover and refrigerate until serving time. Let stand for 1 hour at room temperature before serving.
