Spanish Rice Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup uncooked instant rice
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded American cheese

Directions:

1. Measure KELLOGG'S PRODUCT 19 cereal, milk, onion, and salt into large mixing bowl. Stir to combine. Add ground beef. Mix until combined. Press evenly around sides and in bottom of 9-inch pie pan to form meat pie shell. Set aside.

2. In medium-size mixing bowl, stir together tomato sauce, uncooked instant rice, green pepper, and chili powder. Spoon into meat shell, spreading evenly.

3. Bake at 350° F about 30 minutes or until meat pulls away from side of pan (160 degrees F). Remove from oven. Sprinkle with cheese. Return to oven and bake about 3 minutes longer or until cheese melts. Cut into wedges to serve.
