Frosty Hermit Cookies

This is one tasty cookie that's sure to disappear quickly. That's because it's loaded with all kinds of good stuff – peanuts, wheat flakes cereal, raisins and sweet spices – and frosted with a simple but scrumptious icing

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 cups Kellogg's® All-Bran® Complete® Wheat Flakes cereal Buy Now
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped peanuts
  • 1 cup seedless raisins

  • 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter softened
  • 5 teaspoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

1. In medium mixing bowl, stir together flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and
ginger. Set aside.

2. Measure KELLOGG'S COMPLETE Wheat Bran Flakes cereal and milk into small
mixing bowl. Stir to combine. Let stand 1 to 2 minutes or until cereal is
softened.

3. In large mixing bowl, beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add
eggs, vanilla, and cereal mixture. Beat well. Add flour mixture. Mix until
well combined. Stir in peanuts and raisins. Drop by level
measuring-tablespoon onto lightly greased baking sheets.

4. Bake at 375° F about 11 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove
immediately from baking sheets. Cool completely on wire racks.

5. Make icing by combining all ingredients into small mixing bowl and beating
until smooth. Frost cookies and sprinkle with additional chopped peanuts, if
desired.
