Buttermilk Biscuits
Buttermilk lends a pleasing tang to these tender country-style biscuits. Try them for breakfast, fresh from the oven, spread with butter and jam. Or serve them as a comforting accompaniment to a homemade soup or stew.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Kellogg's® All-Bran® Original cereal
- or 1/2 cup Kellogg's® All-Bran® Bran Buds® cereal Buy Now
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
Directions:
1. Combine KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal and buttermilk. Let stand about 2 minutes
or until cereal softens.
2. In large mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Using pastry
blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cereal
mixture, stirring only until combined. Turn dough out on lightly floured surface and
knead gently a few times. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.
3. Bake at 450° F about 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve hot.
If milk is used instead of buttermilk, omit soda and increase baking
powder to 1 tablesoons.
